Comcast/XFINITY’s 1TB data cap is ridiculous, why is this a thing?

We live in a day and age where 4K livestreaming apps are now implementing more videos to stream in 4K within Netflix, Hulu and YouTube, which means this is taking up more speed data to get higher quality videos. On top of all that, Online Gaming is becoming more prominent in households. In households with 4–5 people, this 1TB data cap isn’t enough.

Comcast/XFINITY should have surveyed which customers extended this 1TB nationwide and give these customers 3TB standard. If they go over 3TB (which they probably won’t), they can then upgrade to the Unlimited data plan. Seems pretty simple to me.

Why is this a data cap a bad thing? I live in a household with 5 people; 5 phones (mostly all on WiFi to save Data for outside of house use), 2 laptops, 2 desktops (one for gaming/normal use, one for normal use), 1 smart TV (mostly streaming Netflix) and 2 Xbox One’s (mostly on all day streaming videos or playing Video Games). This 1TB data cap is ridiculous and isn’t good for our family.

If you aren’t a gamer, you’re probably asking yourself, streaming Video Games shouldn’t take up that much Internet speed. In aspect, your somewhat correct, it doesn’t take up that much speed, it normally only takes 5 Mb/s (up and down) to play Online…
